Every permanent Florida resident who has legal or beneficial title to real property, resides thereon and in good faith makes it their permanent
home on January 1st is eligible for a $25,000 exemption on the assessed valuation that applies to all property tax levies. Also, every person
who qualifies is entitled to an additional exemption of up to $25,000 on the assessed valuation greater than $50,000 for all levies other than
school district levies.
If your home is titled in a Trust, additional information will be required. A representative will contact you upon processing your application to inform you of the required documentation.
You will be unable to file online if any of the applicants:
- Do not reside at the homestead address
- Do not have a current, valid Florida Driver License or Florida ID card, reflecting residency at the homestead address. Florida driver licenses and ID cards can be updated, replaced or renewed at GoRenew.com
- Do not have a social security number

Applicants will be asked to provide the following information to show eligibility. This information is requested to complete your application and verify Florida residency online.
- Valid Florida Driver License or Florida ID with Homestead Address (for all applicants and spouse)
- Social Security Number (for all applicants and spouse)
- Florida Vehicle Registration with Homestead Address (for all applicants that drive)
- Florida Voter Registration information with Homestead Address (for all applicants who are U.S. Citizens) escambiavotes.gov
